cd /var/mqm/errors should only change directory. No output expected.

/opt/mqm/bin/ffstsummary pauses for a while before i hit ctrl + c.
Let it run to completion. If there are .FDC files in the current directory, it will write a report to the console. (Why press Ctrl+C?)

actually, last time i ran /opt/mqm/bin/ffstsummary, it just returned 0 lines, and came out
But (correct me if I'm wrong) at that time either
(a) your current directory was not /var/mqm/errors OR
(b) there were no .FDC files in there because of a backup/restore problem
Sorry if I misunderstood on any point. I just never found ffstsummary to fail before, so these are the explanations I can imagine.
IBM did ask a question wether the Qmgr was removed form the cluster before upgrading to CSD11. Not ssure if this was the issue, but apparently due to a shared memory corruption. which caused the Qmgr to generate FDC's every time a process tried to access it via client connections and ultimately crash.
